2 Bridges, an island, a baroque square in the middle of socialist style buildings and Roman ruins!
This bike tour is unique and wonderful, because we leave the center of Budapest and ride out to the suburbs, passing the old prefabricated "socialist style" buildings and industrial facilities. This interesting bike tour brings you immediately back to the 70s, when the communistic government constructed "socialist" model cities. We cycle through prefabricated housing areas (on bike paths, of course) to discover retro monuments and public buildings of this time and will learn how the "normal" people of Budapest are living.
You will have amazing views from Margaret- and Arpad Bridge and discover some natural and musical wonders on Margaret Island.
This huge city has a different kind of beautiful sites as we go along and over the "blue" Danube and reach the green recreational area "Romai Part", in English called the Roman Beach, because there the ancient Romans were relaxing and having BBQ. Today the locals hang around having a sun bath at the Danube. We will join them and enjoy a drink and authentic Hungarian dishes like the "Kolbasz" (a Hungarian giant sausage).
Talking about the Romans, - we will also visit ancient ruins like AQUINCUM and an amazing Amphitheatre, where we will enter a different time and world.
Afterwards we will cross a beautiful baroque square (the concrete buildings in the background provide a unique contrast), - the main square of Obuda!
Book this wonderful bike tour of contrasts and discover the "other" Budapest with us. This guided tour takes about 4 hours and costs 30 Euro including a drink, bike and safety equipment. Book online here or send us an email:
